Ministry Amid COVID-19 Part II
APM will be offering a new on-line networking opportunity this coming year titled Wisdom and Wonders in Pastoral Ministry.
Regularly scheduled Zoom gatherings will be a benefit of joining APM for the 2020/2021 year but we want to invite you as a current member to join us in the month of August.
You will have to be an active APM member to receive the Zoom link. So if you have not yet registered, register now!
Here’s a bit more information…
Drop in and gather with other pastoral ministers from your desk or home to check-in, share ideas, gain insight and knowledge about a variety of topics. It seems like weekly there’s a new wonder to tackle! As we continue to minister through Covid-19, and beyond: we are faced with several challenges. Here we will share about best practices, protocols, prayer, and gain camaraderie and encouragement, etc. Once a month/or bi-monthly we meet for an hour on Zoom, to check-in, pray, discuss & share, timely issues like: homebound ministry during Covid-19, funeral lunch changes, formation of volunteers, etc.
RSVP to Jean @ firstname.lastname@example.org by September 15 to receive this month’s Zoom link.
We hope you can join us and feel free to pass this on to others you may know in pastoral ministry.
"We all stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, and lead the way for those who follow. Paying it forward -- our most worthy expression of gratitude – grateful for those who shined their light for us to follow, and grateful for those who will someday follow us as ministers."

It seems surreal to be heading into the Labor Day weekend and I have not had the opportunity to wade into the Atlantic Ocean! So much of life as we knew it looks vastly different. While the pandemic has created stress in all areas of life it has also provided us the opportunity to strengthen our ability to be both flexible and creative as we minister in new territory. With the unrest and heightened discussions on racial equality we are all asked to reflect on what we can do to be instruments of God's peace and justice in our world. How do we more fully live out the mandate to love our neighbors?
It was in this climate the APM Board held our planning meeting to look ahead at a new program year. The theme that came out of that time together is The Spirit Breathes Over the Chaos, an echo of the Genesis creation story.. The Program Committee is excited about the speakers who will develop this theme for us. All three of them bring enthusiasm for their topic and have much wisdom to share with us. Our programs will be done via ZOOM so you can participate from your home or office on your computer, pad or phone, and if desired, in sweats!

Announcing APM's 2020
Mary Mulheron Award Winner!
Director of Pastoral Care
Our Lady of Grace
From Mary Ann Kelly-Wright, APM Past Chair:
"As the serving Past Chair of APM I have the honor to introduce APM‘s 2020 recipient to you... This year requires a different approach as the APM Board prudently made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 banquet. Our past banquets provide evidence that the “required social distancing” would be impossible to achieve nor would we want to if we were to gather....
It is with great joy that I have the privilege of announcing this year’s Mary Mulheron Award winner, Beryl Morrow Schewe from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. The framed certificate and monetary gift were presented to Beryl on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Edina, Minnesota."
Honorary Mary Mulheron Award Winner!
May she rest in Jesus' loving arms.
Pastoral Care Director at St. Thomas Becket
until she died of cancer.
From Christine Sorensen, APM Program Committee:
"Adaire and I drove right over to Pat's home and had the blessing of giving her the certificate. She was both humbled and delighted. It was an honor for us to represent the Board and express our gratitude and affection to Pat. She has now gone home to our loving God who created her and we who remain will long be inspired by her dedication and example. Well done, good and faithful servant."
