Program I
"Pastoral M inistry: How is it Going for You?"
Speaker: Dolore Rockers

What is it about your ministry that gets you up and out of bed in the morning? What is it that makes you want to pull the covers back over your head?

The call to Pastoral Ministry is one full of grace and hopes along with trials and tribulations.  How do we stay energized?  What do we do that sustains us and keeps us present to those we minister to?

Join us as Dolore Rockers, OSF Ph. D. guides us in a conversation that helps us take an honest look at experiences, practices and motivations in Pastoral Ministry.

Please join us as we kick off our celebration of APM’s 40 years by sharing our stories and experiences.

Among all the books of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation is perhaps the strangest and most often misunderstood. Some see it as a kind of "war manual," which maps out a plan of action for the impending battle between the righteous ones and the forces of evil. Others see it as a road map of the end time, hoping that they can make themselves safe from the catastrophe that will destroy the world. Still others see its many references to war, bloodshed, grotesque monsters, and cosmological disasters, and wonder how they can possibly reconcile all this violence with Christian belief in a compassionate and loving God.
But the Book of Revelation is so much richer and more profound than any of these (mis)perceptions. In this brief presentation, we will investigate Revelation as an admonition—in words and images—to live as people of hope and promise even in the midst of life’s struggles.

Program III
"The Paschal Mystery of Pastoral Ministry"
Speaker: Jackie Witter

Pastoral ministers dwell in the Mystery of Christ's life, dying and rising as they faithfully live out their vocations to be and bring the presence of Christ to God's people.  Dwelling in Mystery is not simple or easy, even with the grace of God.  We will reflect on the richness of the Paschal Mystery and how we can open ourselves more fully to its transformative grace as we strive to faithfully respond to God's call.
